Timur Gishlarkaev and his brother Ruslan were born three months ahead of schedule. Ruslan could not be saved, but his parents and doctors are now fighting for Timur's life and health. The child has hydrocephalus, fluid accumulates in his head, expanding the skull from the inside. After the brain bypass surgery, the boy felt better, but not for long. The shunt, supplied under the compulsory medical insurance, refused. The child could not sleep for two days: he cried and screamed. Within a month, the volume of the head of a 6-month-old baby increased from 40.5 cm to 42.5 cm. Timur and his mother are in Moscow now. Neurosurgeons agree to replace urgently the shunt, fix a programmable one. So the child will develop and in the future he will not differ from his peers in any way. The shunt costs 225 thousand rubles. We don’t have much time.
