The 14-year-old, incredibly smiling Alina was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. She does not walk and cannot sit on her own, but gradually, together with the therapist, the girl has already learned to hold light objects, learns to straighten her legs at the knees and raise her arms.
Alina completes her school program at home and plays a lot of educational games. She does not speak, but actively communicates with gestures and facial expressions. Sociable and cheerful, Alina really lacks communication and attention, so she always looks forward to specialists and volunteers from the foundation, loves holidays and going to the theater or museum. She also regularly goes to nature with her entire large and friendly family, where they light a fire and cook food over the fire.
The parents, together with the foundation, are trying to fill the girl’s world with impressions and joy, but regular rehabilitation and the consequences of a serious illness remain in her life. Due to the fact that Alina cannot support her body independently and is constantly under physical stress, joint deformation occurs. In order to avoid this, Alina, in addition to regular exercises and muscle relaxation practices, needs pillows.
Pillows are sewn according to the child’s individual parameters and help keep the body in the correct position and relieve tension. In addition, they prevent bedsores for children who are almost always in a lying or sitting position. In addition to Alina, 55 more wards of the foundation need such pillows.
Support our fundraiser, and together we can make the lives of 56 children more comfortable and help them fight the disease!
