Nurses in the palliative care unit now wear bright and comfortable scrubs, which have a positive effect on the well-being of children!

Little Yesenia is an orphan; she has been in the palliative department of the Cheboksary hospital for eight months. The department's nurses and foundation nannies look after her every day. Yesenia is in a very serious condition, but she always responds to songs and ditties, begins to coo at touches, massages and strokes, and blinks more often at speech that is familiar to her. Yesenia and the other children are surrounded by the familiar white and gray colors of the hospital: from the walls to the medical staff’s coats. However, color greatly affects the mood of patients, especially children. It has been proven that a good mood, smiles and laughter increase the level of endorphins – «happiness hormones», which have a pain-relieving effect. In addition, the number of T cells increases, and they participate in the process of strengthening the immune system. We are opening a fundraiser for the purchase of new gowns for the medical staff of the department – bright, but pleasing to the eye colors. Together we can bring a little more joy and strength into the lives of the children who fight for it every day.
