Sarah was born at the 30th week of pregnancy, in the department for covid pregnancy, and on the 5th day after birth she was urgently placed in intensive care, noticing signs of intestinal necrosis (NEC). By the end of her stay in intensive care, it turned out that the baby had bilateral leukomolation – necrosis of brain cells. With such a brain lesion, according to statistics, 80% of the consequences are cerebral palsy.
At 3 months old, the baby underwent her first rehabilitation in Moscow. Her mother herself decided to undergo training in Voight therapy techniques, taping and therapeutic gymnastics, and practiced her daughter herself three times a day. The results were not long in coming, the left hand, which was predicted to have paresis, began to respond, she began to turn over and squat down. At 7 months after the next course, Sarah learned to crawl, and at 1-2 months, the baby started walking on a walker, learned to eat herself with cutlery and has already made progress in self-brushing her teeth.
Now Sarah is 3 years old, and thanks to the treatment she received, she has achieved incredible success. But we can't stop there. She needs a consultation with an orthopedist and a gait assessment and physical rehabilitation classes to teach Sarah how to walk on her own.
The family does not have the opportunity to pay for this course, but together we can help Sarah go through rehabilitation!
