Safina was born prematurely. At the ophthalmologist's examination Fatima was found to have retinopathy of prematurity. This disease threatens retinal detachment and without treatment leads to complete blindness. At the moment Safina needs to have her eyes operated on as a matter of urgency. Safina's family lives very modestly and cannot pay for treatment for their youngest daughter on their own. That is why they have asked for help.
