Veronica was diagnosed with bronchiectatic disease at the age of 4. In the following years, she was followed up by pulmonologists in Ekaterinburg, survived 4 pneumothorax, infiltrative tuberculosis. In the body was detected Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which caused such serious complications as respiratory insufficiency. Since February 2020, Veronica has been observed at the Sklifosovskiy Research Institute and put on the transplant waiting list.
Veronica writes:
"At the moment I breathe through an oxygen concentrator, I can walk with oxygen (maximum 890 steps per day), I have regular therapy with inhalation and azithromycin. According to doctors, non-invasive ventilation can make easier waiting for transplantation.
I am a philologist. Before putting on the transplant waiting list, I was a journalist in the architecture and design publication. Now I lead my educational blog on transplantation and lung disease in Instagram, I do not have recourse for more. As I have been outside Ekaterinburg for 8 months already, of course, I miss my home, coziness, familiar cafes, and the opportunity to lace sneakers easily up and go for a walk in the park. A cat and my friends are waiting for me at home”.
