Roma has an autism spectrum disorder. He started talking very late. He was afraid of large, foreign premises. Always played alone. Until he was 6 years old, he did not look into the eyes. But in the period from 5 to 7 years there was a big leap in development. Some autistic traits disappeared. There was a chance that Roma will learn to communicate with peers and overcome autism.
Now Roma is 10 years old and he is studying in the 4th grade of a regular general school. He is engaged in kettlebell lifting, learning English. Roma is a very inquisitive boy and likes active games. However, there are difficulties in relations with his peers. Roma finds it difficult to choose words to express his emotions and impressions. He is influenced by stronger children. He does not like to be hugged.
All these years my mother has been actively engaged with the child and has invested all her energy in his development. However, now she needs the help of a behavioral analyst who will write an individual development program and help to correct the behavior, learn to communicate with peers and close people. Roma needs to undergo an intensive rehabilitation course in Crimea, where intensive training with behavioral analysts and an adaptive physical education specialist will help him/her overcome behavioral difficulties and socialize as successfully as possible.
