The Kornilovs have not yet returned home: everything has been cleaned and dried, but it will take time to rewire and install electricity in the rooms and replace the pipes. For now, everyone is living in a rented apartment. Elena's mother goes to her house every day as if to work, puts things in order and makes repairs. On weekends her husband joins her. Sometimes they take Lenya with them, and he calms down, seeing that little by little his native home is becoming familiar to him. Thanks to you, the family was able to buy generators, a heat gun and a fan heater - without them the house would take much longer to dry out. We replaced the front door - with a strong, iron and beautiful. We bought tools for repairs. And a small sofa - it was the beginning of a new environment and made it possible to sleep in the house sometimes, so that more time was left for working in it. April 23 was Leonid's birthday. It was still the peak of the disaster, the family, in general, did not understand what to live on. And certainly there was no time for celebrations. The parents asked if it was possible to buy a smart speaker for Lena as a present from the donated funds. This is not a drill or an axe, which are needed for repairs. But the boy was under extreme stress, did not sleep at night, was afraid to stay alone in a strange apartment. And he calmed down only when he heard music or listened to books. We decided that this is a very necessary gift, no less necessary than a construction tool! The family is very grateful to you for coming to the rescue at the moment of losing everything. You helped them not to despair, to believe that everything can be restored, to feel warmth and support. The Kornilovs are sure that with your help they will celebrate the New Year at home.

A family with a disabled child affected by flooding in Orsk needs help to return home

The Kornilov family from Orsk, the parents have a 17-year-old son Leonid, and he has cerebral palsy. When the flooding started and Leni's room began to fill with water, the boy became hysterical. His mother Elena was very scared that her son would have a stroke. She had no opportunity to grab even a pair of spare shoes, she lifted her son and led him to the exit, repeating: "Calm down, we're going to leave now." The family was lucky, they were allowed to stay with acquaintances. The family cannot return home yet. Some of the lighter things were carried away by the water. And what's left inside has become a jumble of broken objects. The appliances are out of order, there is no heating, mattresses and sofas are soaked with rotten dirty water and covered with mold, chipboard furniture has dried out. Compensation to the victims will not cover everything that was lost during the flood. Besides, in order to spend it and start bringing the house to a habitable condition, it is necessary to dismantle the rubble, throw out everything that was damaged, dry the walls and floors - the family has no money even for this. And Leni does not have orthopedic shoes and walkers to walk: he sits a lot, and this has a bad effect on his condition - his muscles stop working. If we help, the family will be able to cope with priority problems and return home faster.
