Yulia Dorokhova and her husband are expecting their first child. The beginning of the pregnancy was joyful, but the second screening revealed a congenital heart defect in the child. This diagnosis is dangerous because immediately after birth the child’s condition can worsen significantly. That is why it is important that the birth takes place in a perinatal center in Moscow, capable of providing emergency medical care and taking all the necessary measures to stabilize the child’s condition. After this, if necessary, the baby will be transferred to the Cardiology Center for surgery to correct the defect. Yulia and her husband are a young family from Kursk. The parents are already retired and do not help the family financially. At the moment, Yulia receives only maternity benefits, and her husband’s salary is enough to pay basic expenses. The family cannot independently pay for accommodation and additional medical examinations in the capital. The Light in Hands charity foundation provided Yulia with accommodation in Moscow as part of the Baby House project.
