Last year we already helped little Safiya undergo a vision surgery. Now the baby needs the next stage of surgical treatment.
Safiya was born in a difficult condition at 26 weeks of pregnancy - the retina of the child's eyes had not yet had time to develop, so both of Safiya's eyes were affected by a dangerous disease - retinopathy of prematurity.
The disease progressed rapidly and Safia suffered a retinal detachment. Since she was two months old, the girl has already undergone several vision surgeries. At the end of the last operation the doctors achieved positive dynamics - the area and height of the detached retina decreased!
The doctors need to continue spreading the retinal tissue in the eye - babies have a high possibility of recovery, but unfortunately, the risks are also high - the delicate retinal tissue in children quickly dies when detached.
In Safiya's home country they cannot help her. In Russia, all surgeries for the little girl are paid, as Safiya is from another country. The girl's family is not able to pay for such an expensive operation.
Please help the girl to get to the operation to save her eye as an organ and visual properties!
