Mark was born five weeks premature. Mark and his mother spent a week in intensive care.
From the age of 3 months the boy started to have vision problems: strabismus and astigmatism, and at 9 months he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. The parents were told that most likely their son would never be able to walk. "At that moment, we were enveloped by a feeling of emptiness, anxiety, frustration, injustice. The world was falling apart," says Mark's mom.
To fight against the diagnosis of cerebral palsy Mark is helped by rehabilitation, but the situation with the baby's eyesight is getting worse. According to the doctor's recommendation, Mark needs an operation to correct strabismus as soon as possible, while the early age and disorders have not had time to consolidate and affect the general development. His mom can't work now, and all the family's funds are spent on regular lessons with specialists, so our help is very much needed to pay for the operation.
Mark is an inquisitive boy. He likes to touch everything, to explore, to play with cars. Recently Mark has learned to crawl. His main trait is determination: no matter how hard it is, he still moves (as it turns out) to the intended goal.
