Ali is a seven-year-old boy who suffers from autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and attention deficit disorder. His mum is single-handedly raising two children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Medical records show that Ali's mother's complaints are related to lagging in psycho-verbal development, irritability, inattentiveness, impaired communication skills and elements of stereotypical behaviour. Doctors note that the child selectively understands spoken speech at the everyday level, responds to his name, has unstable attention, has a limited vocabulary, establishes eye contact, follows instructions selectively, reads syllables, but does not comprehend what he reads, cannot retell, cannot tolerate loud sounds, reacts inadequately to noise, has conditional skills of independence, reduced intelligence. Doctors recommend that the boy undergo comprehensive rehabilitation, including intensive classes with a speech therapist-defectologist, long courses of ABA-therapy, Tomatis method, oxygen therapy and sensory integration. Ali has been receiving treatment for five years. He regularly attends classes with a speech therapist, ABA-teacher and sensory integration. Thanks to this, the boy has noticeable improvements in speech, attention and behaviour.
