Becoming a parent to a child who has no one is a very difficult task and a responsible step. Children abandoned by their parents do not know how to accept care and love. Often these children have difficulties with behavior at home and in society. All this can be overcome if parents have the necessary knowledge and skills. Every family that decides to adopt a child must undergo a training course at the School of Adoptive Parents. At the end of the course, parents understand what characteristics foster children have, how children can be traumatized, with various diseases, fearful or aggressive. But the main thing is that parents learn to understand how to help such a child. Preparation helps families make an informed choice, which means it reduces the likelihood that adoptive parents will not cope and return the child to the orphanage. Currently, 12 future adoptive parents are awaiting a course at the Find a Family Foundation’s School of Adoptive Parents. And in orphanages, children really wait for their parents!
