In the Yom-Yom Children's Inclusive Center, teenagers gain new creative experience and accompany children with disabilities, organize games and activities, prepare quests and holiday programs.
In the summer of 2024, we partially covered the work of the project. The children in the summer program learned to help others, develop flexibility of thinking and emotional intelligence, revealed their individuality and found like-minded people.
Many adults in their childhood and adolescence did not have the opportunity to communicate with people with special needs, perhaps did not encounter them at all. Now they may feel awkward and uncomfortable. They do not know how to behave appropriately, feel insecure, experience conflicting feelings.
This will not happen to teenagers who have completed our program. Inclusion becomes the norm for them, diversity and peculiarities are part of the world, and acceptance of themselves and others is an everyday practice.
In the fall of 2024, we launched two workshops for teenagers: a theater studio, where kids play active games, talk about what worries them, write scripts for their plays and stage them. The second workshop: a support group - a safe and accepting space where you can be yourself, feel the support and acceptance of others.
In order for the workshops to continue, we need to pay for the work of the center's specialists and rent the premises where the classes are held.
Хороший проект👍 удачи вам
