Plato is 1 year and 10 months old. He is a cheerful kid: he already knows how to stack cubes, likes to walk and play with other children. But the diagnosis — ichthyosis — makes life difficult for him and his family.
Patients with this incurable disease are called "fish" because of the scaly skin that requires constant care. Plato's mother says that the baby has to be bathed 2-3 times a day using special products, and after bathing, lubricate the skin with special creams and ointments. One tube of expensive cream is only enough for a week, so you have to spend almost the entire disability pension of Plato on creams. But the baby also needs hormonal ointments, antihistamines, and dietary nutrition…The amount of care for a small "fish" is unaffordable for most families.
Ichthyosis cannot be cured yet, but it is necessary to improve the condition of the skin with maintenance therapy.
The Butterfly Children Foundation opens a collection for Plato for skin care products. Thanks to them, the baby will be able to live without pain and itching, grow and enjoy life!
