Kira has completed an intensive rehabilitation course!

We thank you for the funds you have raised for Amalia. Unfortunately, due to family circumstances, she was unable to come to Astrakhan for rehabilitation. Your help was sent to Kira, who has mental and speech retardation. After two years, the girl stopped speaking, understanding spoken language, learning new skills, distancing herself from other children, and stopped being interested in toys. The behavioral analyst conducted testing to establish the current level of the child's academic, communication, and social skills and barriers associated with undesirable behavior (VB-MAPP testing). Based on the test results, the goals for building an individual training program for the development of Kira's skills have been determined. The specialist also assessed the girl's preferences and determined the hierarchy of motivational stimuli, so that the baby began to cooperate and follow the instructions of the teacher. In addition, Kira was introduced to the system of tokens, the concept of "first-then", she learned to ask for desired objects and actions in a socially acceptable way (through an index gesture and a card), as a result, eye contact was improved. The girl's number of manifestations of undesirable behavior decreased during the lesson, her concentration, perseverance, and understanding of spoken language improved. The specialist also worked on the implementation of listener behavior and visual mapping to the audience. An adaptive sports coach and a sensory integration specialist worked intensively to teach Kira the basic skills, as she could not do anything at all. After the course, the girl learned to run, jump, catch and throw a ball, crawl, overcome an obstacle course, keep her balance, and her large and small motor skills improved.
