Ramil's story began in 2019, when the boy was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma. The bone in his right lower leg was affected. Ramil lived for a year in oncology, during which year the boy underwent 9 courses of high-dose chemotherapy, as well as surgery to replace the affected bone and knee joint with an endoprosthesis.
Ramil's endoprosthesis has to be adjusted to the boy's new height every year. This is a separate surgery for each case of fitting. The admission prior to surgery is the necessary degree of functionality of the leg. It is necessary that Ramil develops the joint so that he can at least lean on his leg when walking on crutches. After each endoprosthesis fitting surgery, the functionality of the leg decreases somewhat, and Ramil will have to regain motor activity. And if he enters surgery with already significantly reduced activity, the subsequent surgical intervention will only worsen the situation. The effect of prosthetics will be nullified, and the child risks living similarly to people who have had a leg amputated.
Now Ramil has to undergo surgery. But there is no proper degree of activity in the joint, the pain syndrome is too high. Ramil has to go to the Prosthesis Center for rehabilitation, to be prepared for the surgery.
