On the 14th day of Sofia's life, her parents learned of a devastating diagnosis: grade 3 intraventricular hemorrhage. This marked the beginning of a battle against severe consequences: cerebral palsy (CP), spastic tetraparesis (stiffness in all limbs), hydrocephalus (fluid accumulation in the brain), and epilepsy.
Despite these serious diagnoses, Sofia continues to amaze with her resilience. Thanks to therapy, the frequency of her epileptic seizures has decreased from 70–80% to 20–30%. However, her condition worsens with weather changes and magnetic storms, causing unexpected seizures. A neurosurgeon from Voronezh has recommended consulting a neurologist-epileptologist who can develop a suitable treatment plan. Unfortunately, the consultation is only available privately, and her family cannot afford it on their own.
Despite the challenges, Sofia's parents strive to bring her joy. They love visiting a petting zoo near their home, where Sofia smiles as she watches the animals.
