Rahim was born with an underdevelopment of his right arm. Now he is 3 years old. He is a cheerful, active and sociable child. He loves running, playing football, drawing and sculpting. However, even now the absence of a hand creates difficulties: to open a bottle, tie shoelaces or turn over a large object, to engage in creativity.
Rahim learned to draw by holding a pencil between his toes and often uses his foot in everyday activities, such as putting on shoes. Sometimes the boy gets upset if he cannot cope with simple tasks.
Rahim always stays close to his older brother Rahman, who helps him feel more confident. His brother supports him, especially when the other children wonder why Rahim doesn't have an arm. At such moments, he hides behind his brother, because only with him he gains confidence.
Doctors recommend Rahim's parents to prosthesis the child now. The prosthesis will help the boy actively develop both sides of the body, avoid curvature of the spine and give self-confidence.
