Safiya received her Russian citizenship and is now undergoing treatment for leukemia under a quota at the R.M. Gorbachev Clinic. R.M. Gorbachev Clinic. Unfortunately, after the screening, Safiya was diagnosed with neuroleukosis, which means that the disease had spread to the central nervous system. The doctors started the treatment of her neuroleukosis now. Every week, Safia undergoes a lumbar puncture with the necessary medications administered. Once the neuroleukemia goes into remission, the doctors will continue the main treatment. The doctors think Safiya will need a bone marrow transplant to be fully recovered. But it's too early to talk about this now, it's important that Safiya's body responds to the therapy she has begun. Friends, thanks to your support the doctors were able to find neuroleukemia as early as possible and begin the therapy in time. Thank you!

Safiya needs further tests and medications to treat her leukemia

Two-year-old Safiya looks out at the world with wide-open brown eyes. There is a certain wariness in her childlike gaze, surprisingly bordering on curiosity. For the past few months, Safiya's life has been full of interaction with friendly people in white uniforms - doctors and nurses. Because of her age, the little girl is not aware of their purpose in her destiny, but she is used to trusting them. Safiya became ill while in her native Tajikistan in October 2020. The girl was admitted to a specialized oncology unit. Doctors began a restraining therapy, which was far from the modern treatment protocol for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Having achieved improvement in Safiya's condition, her parents brought her to Russia for treatment. In St. Petersburg, they are ready to treat the little girl using modern protocols. But since Safiya has no Russian citizenship, she can only get the necessary treatment for a fee. "Safiya needs further examination and clarification of molecular-biological, cytogenetic markers. An examination is also required to clarify the status of the disease," says the girl's doctor, A.A. Osipova. Safiya's father is a lifesaver himself, working as an anesthesiologist-resuscitator in the Leningrad region. Her mother takes care of Safiya and cannot work properly. The cost of treatment is 150,000 rubles. We are collecting half of this sum. Let's help Safiya's family pay for this expensive treatment to give her a chance for a healthy future. May the girl beat leukemia as soon as possible!
