Until the age of three, Ayda grew up as a healthy child: she could run and jump. However, at the age of three, she developed problems with coordination, weakness in her legs and hands, and difficulty climbing stairs. In addition, she began to be bothered by choking attacks and chest pains.
After a detailed examination, the child was found to have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with Friedreich's ataxia. This disease can significantly affect the quality of life of patients.
With this diagnosis, physical therapy plays a very important role in the patients' life. Constant physical therapy sessions aimed at training coordination and muscle strength help to maintain motor activity and to cope with pain.
Thanks to your help, Ayda was able to complete the necessary rehabilitation course. The rehabilitation programme was individually tailored for her and included classes with a physical therapy instructor and massage sessions.
Thank you to everyone who supported Ayda on this difficult path!
