Muhammad was a long-awaited child: his parents dreamed of him throughout the 10 years of their marriage.
“I couldn’t get pregnant for a long time, and I was in seventh heaven when I found out that my husband and I were going to have a baby,” says Makka, Muhammad’s mother.
When the boy was 7 months old, his health deteriorated sharply: he ate poorly, was often tired, and his belly was greatly enlarged.
“All these symptoms did not bode well: so we urgently consulted a doctor. After all the studies, Muhammad was diagnosed with tyrosinemia. A long-awaited child - and such a misfortune! We were in shock for some time; we thought that people with such complex genetic diseases could not live long.”
Doctors urgently sent the boy to Moscow, and now Muhammad is being monitored at the Morozov Children's Clinical Hospital. He needs to take medications and come regularly for examinations to maintain stable health.
