Vanya was born prematurely with Down syndrome and retinopathy of prematurity. At three months old, the boy was placed in a foster family. At that time, he was significantly behind in physical development, could not hold his head up, and due to pronounced muscle hypotonia, even simple movements were difficult for him.
Thanks to regular therapy, Vanya became stronger and learned a lot. By the age of one, he already knew quite a few words and communicated actively, but later there was a regression—the boy stopped speaking. However, his desire to communicate remained: Vanya seeks out people, tries to attract attention, and show his wishes and emotions.
Later, another foster daughter with health challenges joined the family. Now, regular rehabilitation is necessary for both children, and paying for it has become a significant financial burden for the parents.
It is important for Vanya to continue sessions with a speech therapist, special education teacher, and other specialists to develop his speech, communication, and other essential skills.
