"We Are Near": Groceries and Medicines for Elderly People Left Without Support

The KDL Foundation, as part of its assistance program for the elderly called 'We Are Nearby,' is launching a fundraiser to purchase food and medicine for the foundation’s lonely elderly beneficiaries.

Behind this fundraiser are real lives. Grandmothers and grandfathers who have no close relatives nearby to support them. They live on a small pension, and every month they face the same choice: pay for utilities, buy medicine, or set aside some money for food. Most often, they have to save on everything at once. Many postpone treatment because 'something else is more important right now.' They don’t ask for help and don’t complain—they simply live as they are used to: quietly and alone.

But we can make sure that someone is there for them.

The funds raised will go towards food packages—grains, pasta, oil, tea, milk, and kefir. Towards necessary medicines. And also towards snacks for the volunteers who help the foundation: delivering packages, visiting beneficiaries, and simply being there.

Every contribution means someone’s peaceful evening. A hearty dinner. Medicine taken on time. The confidence that tomorrow will be no worse than today.
