Shamil is 8 years old. He has been diagnosed with delayed psychoverbal development (DPVD). Until the age of two, he developed like his peers: his first words appeared, he played, and communicated. But after contracting coronavirus, his development stopped—his speech disappeared, he lost interest in toys, and stereotypical movements began.
Since the age of two, Shamil has been continuously engaged in therapy: ABA therapy, swimming, sessions with a speech therapist-defectologist, and a neuropsychologist. Currently, the boy does not speak, and his understanding of spoken language is very weak. He urgently needs intensive, comprehensive rehabilitation courses. The family is single-parented and lives on a survivor's pension—the boy's father died when he was 5 months old. His older brother is 10 years old. Almost all their funds go toward rehabilitation, but a high-quality breakthrough requires an expensive intensive program.
Let's help Shamil start speaking!
