After the skull surgery, Deni needs a corrective helmet

Deni has craniosynostosis; the bones of his skull fused together while he was still in the womb. Because of this, the shape of his head became asymmetrical: a protruding forehead and a pointed back of the head.

The young parents thought that this head shape was a consequence of childbirth and that everything would correct itself over time. But at every routine check-up, literally every doctor paid attention to the child's skull. 'When I heard from yet another specialist that children are not born with this head shape, I realized we couldn't just let things take their course,' says Madina. 'We started examinations, and they showed that the sutures on his head had fused prematurely. This directly leads to pressure spikes, vision problems, and developmental delays.'

Surgery became the solution, during which surgeons literally reconstructed the child's skull, making room for his growing brain. But this was only the first stage of treatment. The second involves wearing a custom helmet at all times. Deni will have to wear it for six months, during which the skull bones will finally align, and his head will become round and even. However, such an orthosis cannot be obtained through OMS—it is not covered by the state guarantee program for the next three years.

Let's help this young family together. Let Deni have a healthy future.
