Rostislav was born prematurely. Due to prolonged lying in an incubator for premature babies, the child's head became deformed. Even at discharge from the maternity hospital, his mother noticed that the back of her son's head was significantly flattened on the right side.

"The doctors said: turn his head to the left side, use rolled towels, buy an orthopedic pillow, go for massages. We did everything, but the deformation did not go away. My son's head grew, but the flat spot on the back of his head remained the same," says Tatyana.

When neurosurgeons saw Rostislav, they immediately diagnosed positional plagiocephaly. The soft bones of the premature infant were flattened during care and hardened in that position. Unfortunately, no amount of rolled towels will fix this. However, a cranial orthosis can help, but it needs to be put on as soon as possible. While the child is 5 months old, his skull is still very malleable, and the position of the bones can be corrected. But time is running out quickly—if the moment is missed, the skull deformation will remain forever and may require serious surgery in the future.
