Jasmine has scaphocephaly, a congenital condition in which the skull bones fuse too early, preventing the skull from growing in sync with the brain.
Jasmine has already undergone surgery to correct the shape of her skull and create more space for further growth. During the procedure, the skull was cut, and the bones were secured with special plates, spaced apart from one another.
These plates not only help keep the bones in the correct position but also compensate for a defect in the formation of the body's own connective tissue.
Now, the time has come for the next surgery: the hardware needs to be removed.
It is crucial to do this on time so that the fixation devices do not interfere with continued bone growth or cause irritation or other complications.
The family needs help paying for the surgery.
Let’s support Jasmine and help her complete this important stage of her treatment!
