Safiya is 5 years old; she was born prematurely and with severe pathologies, but thanks to the doctors, she was able to overcome many difficulties. At 1.5 years old, the little girl contracted chickenpox, which led to a regression in her development. She became withdrawn, stopped laughing and playing, and lost all the skills she had acquired. Specialists diagnosed her with residual encephalopathy, delayed psycho-speech development, general speech underdevelopment of level 1, sensorimotor alalia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder with elements of autism.
Thanks to regular sessions, Safiya understands everyday spoken language, and can indicate fruits, vegetables, animals, and vehicles using gestures. Only recently did she begin to speak, but she still communicates with others mainly through gestures.
Safiya needs to undergo an intensive rehabilitation course with specialized professionals who can help her improve her self-care skills and expand her vocabulary.
