Valera, who was a professional swimmer, lost his leg in an accident. Now he is being invited to Paralympic sports. The only thing standing between him and new victories is a swimming prosthesis. Help is needed to purchase it.
At the age of 12, Valera suffered a severe rail injury. Doctors were forced to amputate a third of his left lower leg. The boy could no longer continue his favorite sport.
But Valera had been swimming since he was 2 months old! At 6, he was accepted into an Olympic reserve school. He trained before and after classes, 6 days a week, called the sports school his home, and saw his future only in sports.
Valera will be able to continue training and attend the Paralympic reserve school thanks to an aqua prosthesis. It will allow him to stand confidently on the poolside, get back in the water, and swim towards new records again.
