Kolya is five years old. He was born prematurely with a genetic disease—his intestines suffered the most, and food was not absorbed. The little boy was literally wasting away before everyone's eyes: at one year old, he weighed only 6 kilograms. The family could not cope with the demanding care, and Kolya ended up in an institution, from which the fond transferred him to Moskva, where the real fight for his life began.
A gastrostomy was installed for him, and he was fed through a tube in his stomach. But gradually, the boy grew stronger and caught up with his peers in physical development in many ways, and the gastrostomy was removed. Now Kolya runs around the playground, laughs a lot, and offers his cheeks for kisses.
Like 14 other children, Kolya now lives in the Sotsialnyy center of the fond. For orphaned children who have come to Moskva for treatment, the Sotsialnyy center becomes a real home. And a home must always smell delicious with food!
Everyone gathers at the common table—breakfasts, lunches, and dinners are filled with laughter and conversation. Soups, buckwheat, cutlets, mashed potatoes, vegetables, juices, fruits, and sometimes, if the doctor allows, sweets—all of this should be available to every child, every day.
Please help pay for groceries for our kids and their nannies, who accompany them around the clock!
