Vanya fell ill in November 2021. One of the first symptoms was a growth on his upper jaw. Doctors soon diagnosed him with acute lymphoblastic leukemia with a mixed phenotype. This was followed by treatment in Krasnodar, and later in St. Petersburg. Vanya underwent numerous rounds of chemotherapy and two bone marrow transplants.
Olga, Vanya’s mother, says that her son is enduring his treatment with great resilience and is getting closer to his dream. Vanya’s dream is to fight off his illness and return home as soon as possible. He and his mother haven’t been home — where his older brothers are waiting for them — for several years now. "We don’t make plans anymore; we just live each day and find joy in it. Life is an amazing thing," says Olga.
Vanya is currently battling graft-versus-host disease. His eyes are primarily affected: both natural daylight and artificial light cause him severe discomfort and pain. To manage these complications, Vanya requires treatment with the medication SpheroOko. That is why we are turning to you for help.
Let’s support Vanya together, so that he can take a step toward recovery as soon as possible and return home to his brothers.
