Doctors diagnosed Muhammad with a congenital heart defect in the first days of his life. Instead of a joyful discharge from the hospital and a reunion with his family, the boy found himself in the intensive care unit in extremely critical condition. He underwent his first surgery at the cardiology center in Surgut, and once his condition stabilized, Muhammad was finally discharged home, where his dad, grandmothers, and grandfathers were eagerly awaiting him.
The next six months the boy often struggled to breathe, was weak, and was constantly tired. The second surgery improved his condition. Muhammad is now four years old; he enjoys swimming, building with construction sets, playing with toy cars, arguing with his dad, and loves his little sister Firuza very much.
Despite his satisfactory condition, Muhammad’s health is still at risk, and he is scheduled to undergo a third heart surgery. His parents are hopeful that this surgery will lead to his recovery, but they can no longer afford it—all their funds were spent on his previous treatment.
Muhammad dreams of growing up to be as kind and strong as his dad! Let’s work together to give him a chance at a healthy life!
