Idris isn’t even a year old yet; he is the long-awaited son and the apple of the whole family’s eye. He has a serious condition — a congenital heart defect. He was diagnosed at six months old, when his parents began to notice that their son was constantly tired, short of breath, had no appetite, and had a bluish tint to his lips, so they took him to the clinic.
The doctors prescribed medication, and Idris’s condition temporarily improved—his shortness of breath became less frequent, and his appetite returned. However, his overall condition remains consistently severe and life-threatening, so the boy urgently needs heart surgery.
Such surgeries are not performed in Idris’s home country of Tajikistan, so the family traveled to Moscow for treatment. Medical care for foreign citizens in Russia is not covered by insurance, and his parents cannot afford the cost.
Idris loves watching cartoons and playing with his sister, but because he isn’t feeling well, he often acts cranky and smiles less often.
Together, we can help and give Idris a chance at a healthy childhood!
