Mekhrona fell ill in May last year. Harmless, at first glance, the pain in the knee intensified. Mekhron began to limp. Thanks to examinations and tests, the doctors found out that the girl had osteogenic sarcoma.
Treatment began at the St. Petersburg Cancer Center. Mekhrona steadfastly completed several courses of chemotherapy. In early December, she underwent surgery to remove the tumor and install a spacer, a temporary endoprosthesis that helped maintain movement in the joint.
Now Mekhron continues treatment, undergoes chemotherapy. A special drug will help slow down the growth of tumor cells, which Mekhron needs 45 vials.
The medicine is expensive and the girl's parents do not have the financial opportunity to purchase it, however, therapy should be started as soon as possible.
