Little Mia has large and expressive eyes, just like those of anime cartoon characters. Who would have thought that it is the girl's eyes that are attacked by a rare type of cancer - binocular retinoblastoma. Mia has undergone five courses of chemotherapy and is now in remission.
Retinoblastoma is not treated in Perm for such small patients as Mia. During the time Mia is being treated for retinal tumor in both eyes, she has traveled 10 times to Moscow and back. Flights for Mia and her mom are always paid for by the Bereginya Foundation. Mia is not the only one of our beneficiaries who has to travel to hospitals in other cities. The Foundation regularly helps families to pay for air and rail tickets, as well as cabs: about 10-15 families every month.
Not all trips can be paid for under the quota. And everything that concerns hospitalization or consultations under the OMC policy - is done at the expense of parental funds. The same applies to urgent trips when there is no time to wait.
The collected sum will be enough to provide tickets for children and their accompanying persons to the clinics of the central cities of Russia in the nearest future. Let's help children who are being treated for complex diseases and their parents!
