Adopted children with challenges have started therapy sessions with psychologists

Foundation Moscow

Children who have experienced the loss of their parents face deep emotional difficulties that affect their trust in adults and their ability to interact with peers. This, in turn, complicates their adaptation to school and can interfere with their learning process. For example, Misha is afraid to let his mother leave him at school, always worrying that she won’t come back. Masha, on the other hand, struggles to connect with other children, and when someone tries to befriend her, she responds with aggression, even biting others as though defending herself from potential loss. These reactions are simply a reflection of the trauma they’ve experienced, and they hinder their ability to focus on their studies. Thanks to your support, we were able to organize group therapy sessions where children like Misha and Masha have started learning to trust new adults and build relationships with their peers. Under the guidance of experienced psychologists, they are working through stressful situations in a playful way and are gradually learning to respond confidently to real-life challenges. We want to express our gratitude to everyone who supported our project. Thanks to you, these children now have the opportunity to adapt more quickly to school life and achieve success in their studies. Your contribution is truly helping them recover and overcome their difficulties.

Let's help foster children with communication difficulties adapt to school

Children who have experienced the loss of a parent face serious challenges in trusting adults and interacting with peers. This can significantly complicate their adaptation to school and hinder their learning process. Misha is afraid to let his mom go to school, always worrying that she won’t come back. Masha struggles to connect with her classmates; when someone tries to befriend her, she reacts with aggression and bites, as if to protect herself. These examples illustrate how children who are grieving may respond to those around them, making it difficult for them to focus on their studies. Group activities for younger school children can help create a safe environment where under the guidance of an experienced specialist, these children can learn to trust new adults and build relationships with their peers. In a playful manner, children will confront stressful situations, helping them respond confidently in real life. Let’s work together to help children accelerate their adaptation to school life and achieve success in their studies!
