Alice is a 6-year-old dog who adores people and is easy to get in touch with. Recently she started to walk slower, stumbled on walks and finally just fell down at the enclosure. There was obviously something wrong with her paws and it became clear that it was urgent to go to the vet.
Alice was diagnosed with lumbosacral spondylosis. This is a condition where the vertebrae start to fuse together and the nerve impulses that go from the brain to the paws don't travel properly. Because of this, Alice sometimes places her paws incorrectly - they may tuck or not straighten in time.
In order to assess the possibility of an operation that will give Alice the ability to walk again, a CT scan with contrast is needed.
