Every day, employees of the Penza shelter face emergency situations where seconds, not minutes, matter. Complex injuries, poisonings, respiratory system diseases or the need for anesthesia all require quick and precise intervention. One of the key steps in such situations is tracheal intubation, and for this they now desperately need a set of laryngoscopes.
Inserting a special tube into the trachea allows access to oxygen, which is essential when breathing is impaired due to swelling, trauma or spasm of the larynx. It protects the airway from ingestion of gastric contents, which is especially important in cases of vomiting, poisoning or during surgery. Intubation becomes indispensable when anesthesia is administered during surgical procedures such as spaying or treating trauma, and when artificial ventilation is required in the event of pulmonary arrest or severe illness such as pneumonia. Without this procedure, many animals simply have no chance of rescue.
