Adolescence is a challenging period for all teenagers, but for foster children who have experienced the betrayal of their biological parents and difficult conditions in orphanages, it is especially tough. Milan was placed in an orphanage at the age of 5 by her mother, who couldn't balance her new life with her daughter. The girl believed that her mother would return, but the miracle never happened. At the age of 8, Milan entered a foster family where she is cared for and loved. However, even after three years in her new family, she still feels abandoned and insecure, feelings that have intensified during adolescence.
Foster children often face difficulties in establishing trusting relationships, experiencing fear of intimacy and issues with their identity. Group therapy with a psychologist can significantly impact their emotional state. In a safe environment, teenagers share their experiences, realizing that they are not alone. Such sessions help develop communication skills, express emotions, and build trust.
The psychologist guides the group, creating an atmosphere of mutual support, which promotes emotional healing and improves their psycho-emotional well-being.
