Irina will be 60 very soon. She often recalls the happy childhood she spent with her mother and grandmother. After school, having graduated from a teacher training college, Irina became a kindergarten teacher. Life was filled with interesting events, favourite work, travelling. Irina married and gave birth to a daughter. After 50 years, when she had more free time - her daughter grew up, there were fewer worries, Irina led an active lifestyle - visited exhibitions, concerts, travelled to boarding houses near Moscow. In one of them, one day, she felt bad. Weakness, nausea, pallor. A week later she went to the doctors, underwent an examination and for the first time heard the diagnosis ‘Acute myeloid leukaemia’. I went into intensive care, followed by a long, very difficult, exhausting treatment. A month with high fever, chemotherapy, it was difficult even to move. Irina spent 8 months in hospital. And only warmth, care and constant support of relatives added strength and confidence in the victory over the disease. She underwent bone marrow transplantation, followed by a long recovery. It seemed that the disease was over. But, three years later, a complication after the transplant - graft versus host reaction - began. Now Irina needs a second bone marrow transplant to finally overcome the disease. Unfortunately, the family's financial resources have been exhausted over the years and do not allow them to pay for the procedure on their own.
