Just imagine the life of a teenager in an orphanage. The only adults around are the teachers, who, though they try to communicate as equals, remain part of the system. Peers are "unfortunate companions" who also have a hard time trusting people after they have been abandoned by their loved ones.
From whom to ask for advice? With whom to share the most important and intimate, the things that weigh heavy on the heart? Who to go to with your questions, fears and doubts? Who, in the end, will tell them about the "other" life that awaits them after they leave the institution, and for which they are sometimes completely unprepared.
Each of them needs a significant adult by their side who will support them and share their life experience.
The "Mentoring" project gives orphanage residents an opportunity to find such a person, a close mentor friend, who will help them adapt to life outside the orphanage after graduation and will be there for their younger friend in difficult moments.
The project is being implemented in 16 regions of Russia. At this moment there are over 618 couples in the project.
Let's do it together so that teenagers from orphanages in two regions have an older friend by their side and collect 138,160 roubles!
All the money raised will pay for the work of mentors and psychologists of the project in the two regions, who help mentors and children to build trusting relationships, support couples and teach them how to overcome crises together.
