Katya is a "butterfly", she has epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a rare genetic disease in which the skin is so vulnerable that it can be injured by the slightest touch. EB is not only a permanent injury and wound, but also a multitude of complications, one of which is skin cancer.
Ekaterina dreams of seeing the sea. But in the near future, she will have another trip - for an oncological examination. Malignant skin tumors develop with age in most "butterflies" with severe forms of EB. According to statistics, by the age of 35, 67% of patients are confronted with squamous cell carcinoma, by the age of 55 this figure reaches 95%. The disease sometimes proceeds aggressively, with rapid metastasis and relapses.
Most often, foci of cancer occur in places of permanent wounds, especially if there is chronic inflammation. Such patients are regularly screened for skin, and if a malignant process is suspected, they are hospitalized for further examination. Katya needed hospitalization today. If detected early, skin cancer is curable. Katya is only 25. At her age, her life is still ahead of her, filled with dreams and their fulfillment.
Let's help the girl get tested and take the first step towards her dream of seeing the sea, so that cancer does not become an obstacle on the way to her.
Желаю сил и терпения! 💕
