Barsbek is 4 years old. He was born premature at 30 weeks, spent the first weeks after birth in the intensive care unit and went home with a bouquet of diseases typical for many premature babies.
His eyes and vision were severely damaged. The baby could hardly see anything. In such situations, the fastest possible surgical intervention is required. It was not possible to do this at home in Kyrgyzstan, and it was impossible to come to Russia during the pandemic.
And only three years ago, surgical elimination of retinopathy and retinal detachment began. Several operations on each eye are behind him. It was possible to stop the development of diseases. The doctors' prognosis is realistic. Despite the fact that Barsbek now sees almost nothing, there is a chance to restore about 15% of his vision. This requires another operation.
In the meantime, Barsbek explores the world by touch, loves to play with toys, distinguishes them by sensation. It is difficult for him to walk on his own, he can only hold his hand. This is not surprising if you cannot see what is ahead.
Barsbek is a very sociable boy, he loves to talk and listen to the voices of his loved ones. But he quickly gets tired of external noise and a large number of people.
