Caspiy is another difficult patient of the Penza shelter. Two years ago he could not walk, swallow or eat on his own. He literally “dried up” from dehydration, and then we had to monitor Caspy around the clock and constantly change his treatment regimen, so that now he is delighting you with his charisma! Throughout the arduous treatment, the shelter doctors required many medications, including a lactometer, a vital device to keep animals who have undergone extensive trauma and surgery stable.
The Penza veterinary center has dozens more wards who struggle daily with the consequences of injuries and illnesses. Many of them experience severe traumas, serious disorders of the cardiovascular system, respiration or suffer from seizures. High lactate levels indicate a severe condition of the body and the complexity of metabolic processes associated with oxygen deficiency. Lactate test strips help veterinarians determine how effective the therapy being administered is. If the lactate level decreases, it means that the chosen treatment is working; if it increases or does not change, it is necessary to urgently adjust the approach.
Now the stock of test strips needs to be replenished, and the Foundation would appreciate your support for such an important collection. Together let's make sure that each of the brave tails has a chance for a happy and healthy life!
