Halva is 11 years old. She is affectionate and gentle. She once had a house, but her elderly mistress could no longer take care of her pet. That's how Halva ended up in the shelter.
Halva has a chronic kidney disease. This means that she needs special attention and constant health monitoring.
Halva cannot eat regular food: it contains too much protein and phosphorus, which put additional strain on the kidneys. This can lead to complications such as abdominal pain and deterioration of the animal's condition. Special food helps Halva to feel better — it reduces the load on the kidneys, prevents complications and supports her body.
But Halva is not the only one who needs such care. Another 10 wards with kidney diseases live in the shelter. For them, this food is not just food, but a vital necessity.
We are raising funds for 40 kg of special food for homeless animals with chronic kidney diseases. It's important that Halva and her friends feel good and don't have stomach aches.
