Three-month-old Polina from Belarus was born with congenital cataracts. This diagnosis, discovered accidentally at a routine check-up, threatened the baby with vision loss and serious developmental problems. Having received confirmation of the diagnosis from three independent specialists, Polina's parents did everything possible to ensure her timely treatment.
Now Polina is a baby who learns the world through the taste of mother's milk, sleeping on her hands and tentative attempts to see new silhouettes. But her future is in jeopardy. She needs urgent surgery in a Moscow ophthalmological clinic to save her eyesight.
