These young adults ended up in the Shikhan Psychoneurological Boarding School after leaving the orphanage. In orphanages, the children's meals are organized in canteens, where they receive ready-made food. Not participating in the cooking process, the children do not have the necessary knowledge about the preparation of various dishes. Many do not know the difference between a refrigerator and a freezer. Children often have no idea what products are used to prepare dishes, and even more so how much these products cost. In addition, many children have a number of mental health problems, so some teenagers are sent to the psychoneurological boarding school. This is an institution where graduates of orphanages who have reached adulthood and for various reasons cannot live independently live on a permanent basis. Young adults can undergo a medical examination that evaluates whether a person is capable of living independently. But in order to pass it, they need to master the skills of "free" life. The children from the PNI have a large deficit of the usual, familiar skills of independent life. Therefore, we organized courses on self-service and cooking for the pupils of the "Shikhansky Psychoneurological Boarding School".
