When we think of a shelter, the first thing that comes to mind is treatment, warmth. But there is another, no less important element of care - play. Penza shelter launches collection of toys for our wards and invites you to become a part of this cozy project!
A toy for dogs or cats is not a “whim” or an “addition”. It is a tool that helps to relieve stress from life in the shelter, prevent boredom and destructive behavior, develop curiosity, intelligence and motor activity.
The shelter is based on the concept of the “Five Freedoms” of animals, recognized worldwide as the foundation of humane treatment. Toys are directly related to the fourth and fifth freedoms - freedom to show natural behavior and freedom from fear and stress. Toys allow animals to play, think, chew, hunt and control. This is important because it is part of real life.
Toys should be safe, easy to clean, with no small parts that can be swallowed. Every toy, every kind word, is a contribution to life, to happiness, to restoring the tailed hearts that were once so unlucky. Together we can do so much more than it seems!
