In January, Davud underwent surgery to eliminate the consequences of craniosynostosis (fusion of the cranial suture between the parietal bones).
The consequences of the surgery did not bring relief to the boy.
They were seen by specialists during a CT scan and an X-ray a month after the surgery. Large holes were cut in the bones. Presumably, such an intervention was done for the growth of the skull. But in the end, apart from additional problems and a threat to health, it did not give anything.
Part of the brain and blood vessels were protected only by the baby's skin and hair. Any careless movement can lead to brain injury and damage to the vessel, to a stroke.
To reconstruct the skull and eliminate the consequences of the disease itself, craniosynostosis, special titanium plates are needed. They are used to fasten the bones and replace missing fragments.
The surgery is scheduled for April at the Morozov Hospital. The family cannot pay for the implants themselves.
Davud is originally from Kazakhstan. Medical care in Russia is paid for him.
Let's help Davud get better soon!
